ABSTRACT:
In this episode of Mira! We look at Wifredo Lam’s La Jungla. La Jungla stands as the most famous Surrealist painting of the surrealist movement. Lam’s La Jungla not only highlights the black Cuban culture, but glorifies the land of Cuba as well as the history of slavery through the use of the African depictions, tall sugar cane stalks, and tobacco leaves.
